5.1. Methodological overview
This is a 6 ECTS course, one semester length. The methodology combines active learning, lectures, resolution of problems and the development of a project (alternative evaluation).
5.2. Learning tasks
Active learning, using:
Lectures. Assessment Task. Lab. Project. Personal study and problem solving.
Evaluation activities: written exam (global evaluation) and written exam, resolution of problems and oral presentation about project (alternative evaluation).
5.3. Syllabus
Strategic Analysis. Business continuity. Management systems. Management of activities. Quality. Innovation management. Management systems implementation.
The objective of the Information Technologies in the Company is structured in seven thematic units. The following is collected the synthetic program of the subject.
UNIT 1: STRATEGIC ANALYSIS
Analysis of value creation and business objectives. Technological environment and evolving technologies. The strategic process.
UNIT 2: BUSINESS GROWTH
Strategies and competitive advantages of ICT companies and their structural characteristics and development. Start-ups, Business Angel.
UNIT 3: SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT
Identification of processes and enterprise systems for integration into the IT environment.
UNIT 4: ENTERPRISE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
Breakdown of business processes and the definition and functions with ICT solutions. Supplier Relationship Management, Production Management, Commerce management and Project Management.
UNIT 5: QUALITY ASSURENCE
Introduction to standardization and specific rules in IT Companies.
UNIT 6: INNOVATION MANAGEMENT
Competitive advantages in technology-intensive sectors and innovation strategies. E-commerce. Patents.
UNIT 7: MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IMPLEMENTATION
Consulting and model for implementing information technologies systems.
5.4. Course planning and calendar
Three classroom-hours per week (15 weeks) that include lectures and resolution of problems. The student will also have 5 lab classrooms of 2 hours each and he/she will carried out a project (oriented by his teacher), with a final oral presentation (alternative evaluation).
